In D2, my favorite classes were dictated by what I was playing.
PvE: Sorceress, Necromancer
PvP: Amazon
Hardcore: Hammerdin with major emphasis on support auras.
I feel like the Monk is mostly similar to the Paladin in the sense of support/debilitation auras. This is 100% theory crafted, but I can see the Monk being a necessity for PvP and Hardcore mode strictly based on their support role.
I am going Baba or Monk for sure :]
Monk no doubt.
I think Baba and Monk are going to be a solid duo for just about everything. I also think DH+Monk are going to rock the socks off of competitive play.

I have a feeling DH is going to rock PvP, so for that I'll most likely be picking it up. Monks seems like a great click for me with PvE, but when I bring the class to the arena it'll probably only be to learn how to beat this class ;p
I am torn between wizard and monk. I will likely choose monk though, at least for PVP.
As for PVE I want my necromancer back. Otherwise probably wizard or witch doctor (i guess)
